Bournes team walk 1411 miles to raise £1,390 for Cancer Research UK

In May a team from Bournes, calling themselves "Bourne to be Wild" joined the "100 miles in May" challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The team smashed their initial £500 target, raising an amazing £1,390 toward funding vital research in the fight against Cancer. Each team member had a target of walking 100 miles each across the month, and some achieved even more! Collectively the team walked 1411 miles throughout the month.

Every year since 1996 Rye Town council has displayed local artist John Ryan's reproduction of The Adoration of the Magi (a triptych depicting the nativity scene originally painted in 1423 by Gentile de Fabriano) in the town hall's 'Buttermarket'. Hayley completes Ride the Night 2016 charity challenge

Congratulations to our Quality and Training Manager, Hayley Couzens, who recently completed a gruelling 65 mile charity bike ride in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

Hayley had been training for several months in the run up to the race, which took place overnight in Central London on Saturday May 28th.
