Rye has been our home since 1875 when the company was started by Thomas Bourne as a local cartage and coal delivery company. The company evolved and future generations moved into additional transport services and home removals and storage, operating from properties in Tower Street, Eagle Road, Winchelsea Road, Rock Chanel and today on the Rye Harbour Road.
If you've lived in Rye for a long time you may remember our mustard/cream colour vehicles, 'Bourne Mover' crews and Eric and Roy Bourne seeing them in and out of the yard each day. Although we've grown a bit, today we're still a family run company with Eric and Roy's sons running the business. Although today's look with our red and white trucks and our highter numbers of vehciles and teams ready to help you is a little different, we still provide a personal, local removals service and are still as dedicated as ever to providing you with a great move.
We're proud to be a certified member of the British Association of Removers and of the additional range of services we can offer our customers. In the 1990s Bournes joined the UTS network (Now Harmony Relocation Network) to help provide our professional removals services to customers moving to Europe and overseas in addition to locally. In 2009 Bournes also aquired the Turks Removals company of Lydd which was originally started by other members of the Bourne family.

This was my fifth move with Bournes and why would I ever use another firm. Crew are lovely, extremely helpful and make you feel like an old Friend. My team leader has been so supportive as a neighbour even after my move, this actually sums up why I use Bournes. It was also great to see some of my previous removal teams on the day when I finally got to Rye.
Customer feedback for Removals to Rye
I chose Bournes because they were local in Rye and provided storage facilities. I have not rented for a long time and they made this move so much easier than I expected. The 4 chaps were very helpful and professional and when I move again in a year I will ask them to do it for me.

Local removals and storage service
We chose Bournes because they are local to our final moving destination. We have found all personnel that we dealt with at Bournes to be efficient, polite and knowledgeable. I'd also like to add that the teams that actually do the physical moving, loading, packing are exceptional, in their abilities and also their understanding, that it may be everyday for them but for their clients it's anything but everyday!
