Fresh off the back of a treble win for BAR's Overseas Mover of the Year, and a finalist spot last year, we're incredibly pleased that our hard work has once again paid off.
But what does this award mean to us, and what exactly went in to claiming the prestigious top spot for 2019?

Being that this was our fourth time as a finalist and once again being in contention for a win, you'd expect that we would have a handle on what is required to bag first place.
Adjudication, however, is based off of evaluation carried out by people who aren't particularly familiar with the business, and only through interaction with our business, do they conduct their evaluations. In short, there's no resting on your laurels. Bournes International Moves consistently strives for perfection - which makes this model of evaluation not only valuable to our business, but is integral to gaining insights on how we can improve your experience.
Interaction online with our business is something our customers do daily - and so a win signifies that we're on the right track with end-to-end customer service. We strive to make our quotes, bookings and interactions as simple and seamless as possible.
Top honours indicates evaluators are pleased with their online experience, as well as post-sales experience, with the bigger win here being that it reflects on how well you, our customers, perceive our value proposition.

When it comes to winning an Overseas Mover of the Year award, the standard BAR is set very high.

Winning Overseas Mover of the Year (OMotY) is a wonderful achievement and one that everyone within the company is very proud of. I am extremely lucky to have colleagues that care as much for our customers, our business and our reputation as the Bourne family does; and this is evident in everything they do each and every day.
This is truly an accolade to all our employees and their dedication to quality and service. As one of the owners, and as Managing Director of Bournes, I am in awe of everyone. I thank them all for their continual ambition to strive to be better and not become complacent.
For me that is what makes our third win a little more special than the last, it shows that my colleagues, didn’t just do the same, they improved on something that was already a winning formula.
Looking ahead, Wesley added, Bournes endeavours to improve ease of enquiry/contact functionality on the website (functionality which is currently under development), and to set even higher customer satisfaction scores.
Another BAR win means further promotion of Bournes as a local and global industry leader through website and social media and is valuable in continuing the longstanding Bournes reputation.

Who are the British Association of Removers (BAR) and why should you trust BAR member moving companies?
The British Association of Removers (BAR) is the UK's leading trade association for the moving and removals industry, founded over 100 years ago. The BAR’s Overseas Group comprises over 50 member companies who specialise in international removals services to and from the UK.
The BAR Overseas Mover of the Year is an Overseas Group Council award that is open to any International Removals Company that is a member of it's Overseas Group. The competition aims to encourage and celebrate high standards and to reward those who lead by example, excelling in customer service.
As usual this year's competition again focused on the full "Customer Experience" and the value removers provide to you, our loyal clients.
The competition first launched in 2015 and Bournes are proud to have previously been named 2015 Overseas Mover of the Year, 2017 Overseas Mover of the Year and a finalist last year.
