Bournes has been providing local removals and storage services in the South East of England since 1875 and have had a home in Cranleigh since 2012. In fact, the company has been operating locally since long before then as the Bourne family bought long established removal firm Cooks of Cranleigh, taking over the business that had been run by the Cook family in Cranleigh for over 65 years when Trevor Cook retired. We continued to trade as Cooks until early 2018 when we began replacing some of our fleet and uniforms as Bournes and bringing our resources together with local branches in Kent and Sussex. This has allowed us to improve our services and availability at the same time as maintaining the great service to customers we are famous for locally.
We are still proud to be a family run company with a passion for providing a professional removals service and a happy moving house experience for customers in Cranleigh and surrounding areas. Find out more about us.
We're also proud of the reputation we've achieved for quality of service which has led us to becoming a certified Which? Trusted Trader and member of the British Association of Removers.

We have many years of experience in handling removals in Cranleigh and extensive local knowledge (most of our employees live locally). If you've got old furniture that won't fit into your new house, or used packing materials or packaging left over from the move there are lots of ways to dispose of this household waste in an environmentally friendly way.
Some recycling will be collected from your home fortnightly by Waverley Borough council or you can visit Cranleigh Community Recycling Centre. Check out the council's 'what can I recycle from home' tool to find the best way of disposing of your items.
It's also worth considering donating items to a local charity. The Surrey Reuse Network is a charity that represents and supports community based furniture and appliance reuse and recycling. They provide collection and delivery services for bulky furniture items and sell affordable items too if you need something new for your home at the same time as supporting a local charity.
Please think green when disposing of your household rubbish :)
Everything was very smooth. The assessment, in particular, was very professional. The response from the office was always prompt and well handled. The removal men themselves were very considerate and worked hard. The packing of goods was all carefully done. They were very obliging when dealing with the inevitable hold up at move-in time and worked well with us placing the boxes and furniture. In all, a relatively stress-free experience when so many things can go wrong!

Door-to-door removals service
There were 2 pick up points for my move and they managed everything with the minimum of fuss and very expertly. There were several very heavy boxes containing paperwork which they moved very well. They also offered any help I needed which made the move stress free for me. I was astounded at the professional way I was moved. The team all worked together and in a happy caring way and I felt very secure in their hands. I was by myself on the day and they took everything in their stride including moving my piano very expertly. Nothing was too much trouble for them what a great crew they were, I shall definitely recommend to all my friends.

Local removals and storage service
Thanks for the opportunity to feedback on our move. Very stressful time having to move at short notice and at Christmas. Your team were brilliant! I didn't realise that level of professionalism still existed! There was nothing that the three Bournes men would not, or could not do. The experience really change the stressful atmosphere in our house. The poor service we were suffering with our insurers was completely forgotten because of the superb service supplied by your lads. Please pass on our thanks and best wishes to the lads, and thanks to Bounes too. We'll be in touch when we need to move back!! (From Which? Trusted Traders - read more)
