The April update includes:
- The impact of the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse halting Baltimore Port vessel traffic, including re-routing and associated delays and additional charges.
- Continued re-routing of vessels around the Cape of Good Hope to avoid the Suez Canal resulted in longer transit times, increased risk of delays and emergency surcharges.
- Continued delays to US West coast and the West Coast of Latin America via the Panama Canal due to drought.
- Requirement for increased notice for bookings wherever possible.
- Current state of the market including availability, UK haulage, currency exchange and port strikes.
- Widespread restrictions on shipping Lithium-Ion batteries.
