March marked another exciting round of our £150 for Charity giveaway as part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, and once again, the response from our local communities was absolutely brilliant! We had so many fantastic nominations come in, and it was incredibly tough to narrow them down.
After much consideration, our panel shortlisted three inspiring finalists:
- 🍏 St. Philip’s Community Larder – a volunteer-run community larder in Tunbridge Wells, offering food, hot drinks, and companionship to those facing difficult times.
- 🚌 Playden School Association – St Michael’s Church of England Primary – a dedicated group of parents and staff working tirelessly to raise funds for much-needed school resources and experiences.
- 🎶 The Music Well – a Rye based community organisation providing music therapy and wellbeing sessions that support mental health and connection across all ages.
Once voting opened on Facebook, we saw a fantastic show of local support, with people liking, sharing, and commenting to cheer on their favourite causes. By the time voting closed, one nominee had clearly struck a chord with our community - congratulations to Playden School Association, our March £150 for Charity winner! 🎉

Parent and staff-led groups like Playden School Association play such an important role in schools across the UK, especially when budgets are under pressure. Their volunteers put in endless hours organising events, running raffles, and coming up with creative ways to raise funds for playground improvements, new learning materials, and fun activities that enrich children’s education. It’s heart-warming to see how much they do to make school life brighter for every child at St Michael’s.
We’re so pleased our £150 donation can help them continue their amazing work and bring even more opportunities to local pupils in the Rye area.
A big well done, too, to our other finalists — St. Philip’s Community Larder and The Music Well — both of whom make a huge difference in their own communities. And of course, thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate, vote, and share this month’s competition. Every click helps raise awareness for these incredible causes.
As a family-run company providing removals in Rye and the surrounding areas, we’re deeply proud to be part of such a caring and connected community. Supporting local initiatives like these is one of the many ways we’re celebrating 150 years of helping families move and settle happily into their new homes.
Look out for our April competition coming soon - we can’t wait to see which local charity or community group will be next!
