Bournes Moves in the UK have made a major investment in their European Removals operation with the arrival of three brand new DAF XD trucks, designed to strengthen European services, trade partnerships, and provide even greater flexibility for moves and logistics between the UK and mainland Europe.
Built for Today’s European Moves
The new DAF XD trucks are the latest generation Euro 6 vehicles, specifically selected to support the changing needs of UK–EU removals post-Brexit. With job sizes becoming smaller and groupage more complex, these vehicles offer an ideal middle ground, bridging the gap between traditional drawbar trailers and smaller vans.
Their 60 cubic metre 5-pallet bodies, expertly built by SBR in Preston, are perfectly suited to direct household moves and trade transport. Thanks to their design, Bournes can now accommodate more diverse consignments without overcommitting larger assets.
Safer, Smarter, More Comfortable
Safety and sustainability were key priorities in the investment. Each truck meets London’s four-star Direct Vision Standard (DVS) requirements, featuring full surround recording cameras (active up to 30 minutes after engine shut-off), pedestrian visibility enhancements, and air-ride suspension for reduced road impact.
With the core belief that ‘people matter’ Bournes have also taken care of their crews. Built-in microwaves, fridges, upgraded bedding and additional cab storage mean they can rest, refuel and stay comfortable on long journeys, especially in remote areas where facilities can be limited. The new trucks are designed for two crew, with quality rest space and no compromise on comfort.
Backed by a Trusted, Flexible Fleet
Supplied by Channel Commercials of Ashford, these DAF XDs are the first of their kind to join Bournes fleet. They are part of a wider mix that includes a full, flexible range of trucks and 3.5-tonne vans, operating from depots across the Southeast in Aylesbury, Cranleigh, Tunbridge Wells, and Bournes Rye headquarters, which is ideally located a short distance from the UK-France crossings at Folkestone and Dover.
From this network, Bournes offer scalable, reliable European removals, supporting corporate and private client sectors as well as trade removals services.
