Congratulations to Hamstreet School Association (HSA), the deserving winners of September’s £150 to Celebrate 150 Years community award from Bournes.
Our monthly award is part of Bournes’ year-long celebration of 150 years in business, recognising outstanding local organisations that make a meaningful difference in their communities. This month we’re proud to honour Hamstreet School Association, close to our Rye Removals and Storage branch, for their commitment to enriching the educational experience of young learners and inspiring environmental stewardship.
About Hamstreet School Association
Hamstreet School Association is a dedicated group of parents, carers, and volunteers who actively support Hamstreet Primary Academy by raising funds and fostering community spirit. This year, the £150 award will go towards funding class eco projects that teach children how to grow plants, vegetables, and herbs — nurturing both practical skills and a deeper appreciation for nature and sustainability. These hands-on projects empower pupils to learn about environmental care, teamwork, and healthy living, sowing seeds that go well beyond the classroom.
Thank You to Our Runners-Up
We’d also like to extend a warm thank you to the other finalists in this month’s award:
- St Philips Church Community Larder, for their ongoing work supporting local families with vital food provisions.
- Friends of Etchingham School, for their dedication to strengthening school life and community connections.
Each of these organisations contributes in a meaningful way to the wellbeing of the people they serve, and we’re honoured to recognise their efforts as part of our anniversary initiative.
