As part of our 150th anniversary celebrations, we wanted to do something that gave back to the communities that have supported us over so many years. So, each month throughout 2025 we’re running a £150 for Charity competition on Facebook - giving you the chance to nominate and vote for a local cause close to your heart.
We’ve been blown away by the response to our very first giveaway of the year! The comments and nominations were full of amazing local organisations doing fantastic work in their communities.
Our January nominees included:
- ❤️ Emmet’s Genies – founded to bring a little magic into the lives of children with critical or life-limiting conditions. They work with wish-granting partners to create special experiences for children and families.
- ❤️ Rye Food Bank – an independent, volunteer-run foodbank supporting residents of Rye and surrounding villages through food parcels, advice, and compassion.
- ❤️ Rye Girlguiding – giving girls of all ages a space to grow, learn life skills, and have fun in a supportive environment led by dedicated volunteers.
- ❤️ Imago Community – supporting young carers, volunteer drivers, and vulnerable people across Kent, East Sussex, and beyond.
Every one of these causes deserves recognition for the difference they make. But after all the votes were counted, our January winner was Emmet’s Genies!
Based near to our local moving branch in Aylesbury, this wonderful charity was founded in memory of a little boy named Emmet, whose family wanted to bring smiles to other children facing serious illness. They work with partners to grant “genie wishes” – from exciting days out and special treats to practical equipment and support that make family life a little easier. Their work is all about spreading joy, creating memories, and offering moments of hope when families need it most.
We were so touched to read why people nominated them. It’s clear how much Emmet’s Genies means to families across Aylesbury and beyond.
As a long-established Aylesbury removal company, (previously known as Robinsons of Aylesbury) we’ve seen first-hand how strong our local community is. Supporting local charities like Emmet’s Genies is one small way we can say thank you to the local community for their ongoing support, and ffor being part of our story.
