We’ve been absolutely loving our £150 for Charity giveaways this year to celebrate our 150th anniversary, and February brought another brilliant month of nominations and community spirit!
This month over 600 votes were cast in support of some truly incredible local organisations, and we couldn’t be prouder to see the community come together like that.
🎉 A huge congratulations to 1st Rye Scouts, our February winners! 🎉

The Rye Scouts do an amazing job providing children and young people aged 4 to 18 with opportunities to take part in activities, build confidence, and develop essential life skills - all thanks to the time, energy, and dedication of their fantastic team of volunteers. From camping trips to community projects and practical outdoor skills, they help local children grow into capable, confident young adults.
And, following an incredible effort gaining over 300 votes in the January competition, we decided to match our donation with a further £150 donation to Rye Girlguiding too. Just like their Scouting counterparts, Girlguiding gives girls and young women the chance to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and supportive environment. We hope both organisations can use these donations to continue their fantastic work inspiring and empowering local young people.
As a long-established company providing removals services in Rye (our very first branch!) for over 150 years this community has always mattered just as much as the moves we make. Supporting local organisations like these is our way of giving something back to the towns and people who have supported us.
We also want to give a shoutout to our other brilliant finalists this month:
- 💛 St. Philip’s Community Larder in Tunbridge Wells – providing food and companionship for those in need, run entirely by volunteers.
- 💛 Tenterden Social Hub & Dementia Centre (EC30 Wellbeing Centre) – offering cross-generational support and therapies to help people live independently and stay connected.
- 💛 Kit4Kids Clothing Bank in Waverley – collecting, cleaning, and redistributing donated clothing to local families while helping reduce waste and protect our planet.
Thank you so much to everyone who nominated, voted, and shared the competition - every comment helps raise awareness for these amazing causes.
Keep an eye out for our March competition, coming soon — and remember, even if your nominated charity didn’t win this time, you can enter again next month!
