Congratulations to Tricia Skinner, the recpetionist at Bournes Moves' Rye HQ, who has completed the Hastings Half Marathon in aid of the MS Society.
A huge congratulations goes to Tricia Skinner, the receptionist at our Rye HQ, who completed the Hastings Half Marathon on Sunday 22nd March.
Tricia finished the 13 mile race in an impressive 2 hours and 25 minutes - proving that all her hard work training over the last four months has certainly paid off.
Tricia was inspired to run this year's race by her sister-in-law, who has suffered with multiple sclerosis for several years. She said: "I decided to do it because my sister-in-law is the same age as me and has been living with Multiple Sclerosis since she was in her twenties. She has only just had to start thinking about a wheelchair. I appreciate how much I love the outdoors and being able to just go out and walk/run without having to think about it. I've also seen how this disease has affected one of our own colleagues at Bournes since I started here. I'm doing it for the pure challenge as well."
The MS Society is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to beating multiple sclerosis; investing in world class MS research to find the cause and cure for this devastating neurological condition and providing vital support, information and services to those affected.
Following the race, Tricia said she thoroughly enjoyed it and is already looking forward to taking part again next year. So far, she has raised £516 for the MS Society, but anyone else wishing to donate can do so via Tricia's Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/Tricia-Skinner/
Well done, Tricia!
