In a few simple steps an experienced Move Consultant can now connect with the relocating employee face to face, at their convenience to undertake a walk through and provide a quote for their move.
Improved responsiveness for challenging relocations
Traditionally a move consultant will visit the employee in their home to discuss their individual move requirements, including the items they wish to move, access to the property and individual preferences as well as providing guidance on the process of relocating.
Bournes have recognised however that there are lots of occasions where this traditional approach can be restrictive and that new technology could help us to provide more flexible support to our clients. Take short notice moves for instance where a relocation needs to happen quickly but the employee just can't take the time out of the office to be at home for the visit, or those moves where the employees location is remote and a visit is hard to arrange. There are even some occasions where the employee would prefer a video survey to an in home visit and with technology advances in other areas of life we are finding this increasingly common. Our video survey service allows us to offer complete flexibility and overcome a range of challenges that mean in home appointments don't work or aren't preferred whilst maintaining quotation accuracy and personal service. (Extensive testing has shown accuracy via video to be equal to in person visits)
Unlike the traditional survey we offer live in home video surveys 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, meaning we can easily work around time zone or scheduling challenges and offer appointments at a time that suits the employee best. We also offer a self survey form or smartphone app if the employee preferes to provide this information without guidance from a move consultant.

With the custom designed technology we can connect with your assignee in just a few seconds via smart phone. The consultant then guides them in a walk around of their property where they can answer questions, give information and get all the details we need to provide a quotation. An additional bonus is that the survey is recorded, so we can share this with our operations teams, the employee or you as our client for your records if you wish.
How it works
The process for the employee is really simple:
- We arrange a date and time with the employee for the video survey
- An experienced move consultant calls them at the preferred date and time and talks them through getting connected to our face to face video software.
- The consultant guides them through the walk through of the home exactly as they would if visiting in person.
- Done! As with in home consultations, we will send over our survey report and quotation as soon as possible.
