General Manager and 5th Generation member of the Bourne family, Wesley Bourne said “We are pleased to announce to our valued customers, partners and suppliers an exciting development for Bournes. We are currently in the process of rebranding and in the coming months you will become familiar with the refreshed Bournes brand. As well as the cosmetic changes you’ll also see a new more user friendly website and a range of new tools to help you throughout your relocation”.

“When you’ve been around as long as we have it’s easy to sit back and become complacent about how you present yourself, but at Bournes we recognise that in order to stay relevant, continuously improve and respond to the changing needs of our customers, you need to evolve, and with this rebrand we have done just that”

“Our brand evolution is more than just a new logo though; it’s about improving our customer experience and committing to building value in our service upon the things our customers tell us are important to them”

“Throughout this process we will continue to focus on our key priority – providing excellent personal service to our customers. Each and every customer is important to us and we look forward to living up to and building on the reputation our staff have earned over the last 138 years”

About the New Look

The new brand is a culmination of several years of behind the scenes growth, expansion in capabilities and entry into new markets. Having reached 138 years of operation in 2013 the new identity reflects both the core values Bournes has always held as well as the spirit of what the organisation has become and its modern interpretation of quality service provision to support the relocation needs of its clients.

Bournes recognises that one service does not fit all. Professionals, individuals and businesses all have differing concerns, motivations, expectations and commercial imperatives. The new brand therefore presents tailored identities for its four focused divisions built around the unique requirements of their individual customers.

  • Bournes Home Moves provides local Removals and Storage services for customers moving home within the UK
  • Bournes International Moves provides International Shipping services to customers relocating overseas to and from countries across the globe
  • Bournes Business Moves provides logistics and commercial moving and storage services to business customers with moving requirements to support their business activities.
  • Bournes Relocation Solutions supports the activities of corporate organisations as a single source provider for the relocation of their employees or their customers both globally and locally within the UK.

The new identity includes logos that embody the spirit of a company that has become known for its modern, transparent partnership approach to helping companies and individuals in finding solutions to unique requirements, an innovative approach to technology and a commitment to continuous improvement.

As Bournes is a company currently in its fifth generation of family ownership and management, the new proposition which is built around the phrase “With Bournes, It’s personal” is more than just a tagline. The phrase reflects the established culture of the company whose heritage is built on exceptional levels of customer service and a commitment to understand and meet customer needs on every step of their journey.

During a detailed Insight programme conducted as part of the rebrand, one of the constant themes that emerged was the value and security Bournes customers derive from the knowledge, experience, flexibility and friendliness Bournes staff habitually bring to their work. As a result, Bournes people and a distinctive Bournes personality will feature in company presentations in future.

Following the public launch of the new identity, Bournes will be refreshing its marketing communications which will mean the launch of a new website that provides a much clearer and more relevant journey for the customers of each division, as well as new content and tools to assist the customer before, during and after relocation. Bournes will also grow its social media activity in order to support its customers and extend the helpful relationship they already value.
