Shopping in Melbourne: department stores
All of your shopping requirements will be catered for at Bourke Street Mall, which is home to the biggest department stores in Melbourne. Whether it be luxury, designer clothing, household goods or specialty items, you’ll find it all here along with some great restaurants and places to drink.
Shopping in Melbourne: factory outlets
Full to the brim with factory outlets, Bridge Road in Richmond is the place to grab a bargain. With designer clothes, shoes and accessories all marked at a third of their original price, this is a must for those shopping in Melbourne on a budget. You can also grab a bit to eat or something to drink at one of the many trendy restaurants, cafes or bars on offer here.
Shopping in Melbourne: markets
With over 370 stalls to browse, you definitely won’t leave Camberwell Sunday Market empty handed. Run every Sunday between 6.30am-12.30pm, this is where you’ll pick up vintage clothes, shoes, music, furniture and other collectables that you won’t find anywhere else. Unlike some other markets you won’t be able to buy fresh produce here, but there are several catering vans onsite to keep you well refreshed.
Shopping in Melbourne: boutiques
If it’s style and sophistication you’re after when shopping in Melbourne then Collins Street is the place to be. Flagship boutiques include Armani, Tiffany & Co, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Once the shops shut, Collins Street comes alive with evening entertainment and you will find an extensive array of bars, restaurants and clubs to choose from.
Shopping in Melbourne: high end and handmade
For true Australian fashion, head to Toorak Road where you’ll find all of the country's iconic brands. An eclectic mix of international designer labels, quirky boutiques and individual shops selling handmade wares can also be located here, making it a great place for all ages and tastes. Another excellent place to dine, Toorak Road is home to some fantastic delis, restaurants, bars and cafes.
