The best places to start for shopping in Auckland generally tend to be:

Britomart Precinct: Generally considered to be Auckland’s liveliest shopping district within the historic part of the city. Full of designer boutiques, cafes and bars.

Ponsonby: Ponsonby Road is the place to shop – the hippest strip in the city, this is full of funky fashion stores and quirky cafes.

Parnell: Upmarket is the only way to describe this chic place to shop – think designer décor stores, antiques, art and jewellery and you’re definitely on the right lines.

Matakana Village Farmers’ Market
: If you want to stroll slowly round a selection of unique stalls where traders chat away to you happily, all whilst sipping on a freshly brewed coffee, then this is definitely the place for you.

Botany Town Centre: Over 150 chic and unique stores line the picturesque streets and lanes in Botany Town. A great place to spend a day.

Newmarket: Arguably the fashion capital of New Zealand, Newmarket is the place to come for a dose of glitz and glamour. Not for the faint hearted, this is where you’ll find the top designer stores.

Karangahape Road (K’ Road): Describes as New Zealand’s most famous road, this is where you’ll find everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary.
