Bournes' Rye and Tunbridge Wells offices raised a fantastic amount of money for Macmillan recently by taking part in the charity's annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning.
Held on Monday 3rd October, our Rye office kitchen was transformed into a temporary coffee shop after several members of the team demonstrated their baking skills in order to raise some funds for Macmillan.
After the cakes were eaten and the donations made, a total of £109.36 was confirmed - all of which will be sent to Macmillan who provide essential medical, practical, emotional and financial support for people affected by cancer. As an example, the money raised from our coffee morning could help to pay for a Macmillan nurse for one hour, giving someone with cancer the invaluable help and support they deserve.
Star Baker for the event is yet to be decided - though it might be the closest call for the prize we've ever had, with Caroline's carrot cake, Tracey's chocolate cake, Cathy's Kinder Beuno croissants and Kirsty's banana bread all a massive hit.
Thank you to everyone who took part and supported the event, and also to Move Coordinator Dani Franklin for organising it once again for us all.
